Roy Huneycutt purchased Locust Lumber Company as a future opportunity for himself and his family. Locust Lumber started off as a small saw-mill operation and provided his two boys, Joel and Leon, with an opportunity to learn the business from the ground up.
We have migrated away from the original saw-mill operation to become a full service retail building supply store. By 1995, Locust Lumber had expanded into Union County where they now have a 267,000 square-foot indoor facility. 2012 brought with it the introduction of a new facility in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
This family owned and operated company is now in it’s third-generation with 5 of Roy Huneycutt’s grandsons working alongside almost 80 dedicated employees. Locust Lumber still runs on the principles of hard-work, honesty, and Christian values that the company was founded on almost 70 years ago.
